Scheduled - We will be conducting regularly scheduled infrastructure updates at this time. Non-Anycast CDN services as well as ZephyrGuard tunnels will have a brief downtime for service restarts. Petalpost mail clients will experience a brief downtime as we restart services on our primary mail host, however our secondary mail hosts will receive any inbound mail during this time.

Updates to our virtualization infrastructure are included in this round of updates, which will result in a slightly longer period of inaccessibility for services hosted inside our on-premise environment.

Osaka Networking Issues
Resolved - Although we continue to see minor blips, our media server metrics have returned to the normal range, so this issue does not appear to be continuing to affect service. We will continue to keep an eye out for any further alerts related to metric drops as they relate to this issue.

Update - We’re continuing to investigate this issue. We are still seeing these intermittent blips in connectivity and it appears to still be affecting media server metrics.

Investigating - There appears to be some intermittent network issues occurring with the upstream provider in Osaka which is causing a drop in media server performance metrics. At this time the provider is not reporting any issues. We will continue to monitor the situation for any further degradation and investigate the underlying cause.

Intermittent Networking Issues
Resolved - We have not observed any further disruption after shifting traffic back to Chicago. As always, we will continue to monitor the situation for any further disruption. Thank you for your patience!

Monitoring - We have seen a brief disruption with connectivity to Kansas City so we have preemptively reactivated our routes via Chicago, since it has seemed stable as of today. We will continue to monitor through this evening for any further disruption.

Update - We have received some additional information from our upstream regarding mitigations they have put in place, and we are seeing increased stability in Chicago starting from this afternoon through tonight. We will continue to monitor through tomorrow evening. If the network remains stable at that time, we will attempt to flow traffic through Chicago once more.

Update - We have rerouted the on-prem environment through Kansas City due to currently ongoing disruption. We will continue to avoid routing through Chicago until we receive further assurances from our upstream provider. This will result in a slight latency increase, but we anticipate that this will be unnoticeable for most applications.

Identified - We are seeing intermittent issues that seem to be related to our upstream provider in Chicago. The provider has acknowledged the presence of some issues which may be related to DDoS activity. Currently, things appear stable, but we are opening this incident as an acknowledgement of the problem until we receive further information from our upstream. If we see further issues, we will attempt to reroute on-prem traffic away from Chicago.
